The HBA Chapters and Affiliates set new record with more than 200 programs in 2009

In 2009, the 14 Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) Chapters and Affiliates offered a record-setting 201 programs—65% more than the initial expectation of 125 programs.  Given this trend— and the successful development of 18–month program calendars by nearly all of the chapters and affiliates—the HBA has added more resources to support local programming efforts.

The organization has also expanded several hallmark initiatives to support the specific needs of its members, including affinity groups for special interests —such as women in science and women in transition—and local mentoring programs.

"The growth of HBA programming is indicative of our organization’s commitment to our key stakeholders and constituents," says Jeanne Zucker, Director of Professional Development for the HBA. "We look forward to continued innovation and expanded offerings in 2010 and beyond." The mission of the HBA is to further the advancement and impact of women in healthcare worldwide by providing educational and leadership development opportunities. Central to this mission are the monthly chapter programs that take place throughout the United States and Europe through in-person meetings and electronic communication such as webinars.

Chapter events cover topics such as cutting-edge industry programs, leadership skill development and refinement, mentoring, and more. Chapters regularly recognize outstanding women in the industry. In addition, all events provide opportunities for networking and fostering business relationships with like-minded career professionals.
