More than 40 years ago the 5 founding mothers of the HBA, Diane Anderson, Peg Dougherty, Melissa Gryczka, Sheila Sinkking and Ruth Smith saw the need to build a supportive network for working women in a gender-biased workplace culture. Since their first meeting in New York in 1977, this very path is still being blazed by passionate and dedicated women and men in pursuit of creating gender parity through partnership.
Today the HBA serves more than 145 corporate partner organizations representing diverse sectors of the healthcare industry including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, marketing, contract research, payer organizations, consulting and other firms. With more than 10,000 members in 52 chapters, the HBA is a leading non-profit global organisation dedicated to empowering the advancement and impact of women in healthcare worldwide.
Since the inauguration of HBA Dublin in 2018, the chapter had around 100 members from various Irish based companies. The HBA’s mission is to promote gender parity in leadership roles, facilitating career and business connections and enabling organizations to celebrate the full potential of their female talent.
This is #myHBA
At HBA Dublin, in light of the International Women’s Day, we are taking the opportunity to celebrate some of our own women members. Throughout the whole month of March, we will share some of the success stories of how our HBA Dublin members were able to advance their professional and personal growth through joining the HBA. Stay tuned.
