Fit to Lead Newsletter May 2019

April and May have been busy months for the HBA New England Region Fit to Lead Athleaders and June is sure to be jam-packed as well.

April re-cap: We kicked off 2019 with 24 members (known as Athleaders) with our first virtual workshop introducing the connection between fitness and leadership goals and skill-building. We also held our first group workout: a walk/run around the Charles River between three and four miles on a chilly April evening.

May re-cap: Equally busy in May, we had our virtual workshop on Vision Boarding and the exercise of visualizing your goals. In summary, seeing your goal and motivations in an inspiring array of words and images can make any goal, professional or fitness-related, more appealing and easier to see success. Here’s an example shared with the group:

Fit to Lead Breakthroughs:
On 28 Apri,l Danielle and Kira from Fit to Lead and Michelle Luo from HBA NE Regional marketing ran the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation 5K to raise awareness for multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer. It was Michelle’s first 5K.

A few members of the Fit to Lead Athleader Advisors (our committee) raised money and walked a few miles (or 20) to end hunger in Massachusetts at the 51st Annual Walk for Hunger. Danielle and Elsie did the 3-mile loop (their first time), this was Blair’s first time and she did 5 miles and Laura’s first time and she did the full 20.
