HBA Chicago chapter awarded the Chapter Excellence award

During its recent annual Leadership Conference in Boston, the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association awarded the Chicago chapter its prestigious Chapter Excellence award. The award acknowledges an entire chapter board that has excelled in an area of chapter operations.

The HBA Chicago chapter was chosen because they excelled in all areas. Their 2012 and 2013 proactive efforts helped to create connections between their members, their chapter and for the outreach to industry influencers. Because of these initiatives, the HBA Chicago chapter was able to create a state-of-the-art advisory board, build high-quality educational programs and increase overall membership by nearly 60%. The HBA Chicago chapter with its 600+ members cater to the local healthcare and related organizations and its employees in various programing, mentoring and networking opportunities.

“Our focus at the HBA Chicago chapter is on the connections and leadership opportunities we can create for the members we serve and providing value through experiential leadership and mentoring”, said Kathy Relias, 2013 HBA Chicago chapter president. “We are grateful to the HBA leadership committee for giving us this honor. Knowing the healthcare marketplace is continuing to evolve and through the dedication of our many volunteers, we are also excited about what the future will bring.”

Other Chicago members were recognized for their efforts on behalf of the HBA: Lydia Rohn, awarded the chapter LEAD award for her significant contributions to the leading mentoring program and exemplifying leadership overall; Kathy Relias, awarded Council of Chapter President’s award for demonstrating consistent leadership that directly impacted the council and fostered collaboration across chapters; Bhavani Moodabagil as the top Q3 recruiter for her contributions in recruiting most new members. The HBA Chicago chapter mentoring program was also recognized for receiving 1st place in poster competition during the conference.
