The HBA has held Meetups at BIO meetings for informal networking with current and prospective members; exchange of industry and career information and to further the advancement and impact of women in healthcare.  The HBA Chicago chapter hosted in 2013,  and the Boston chapter hosted in 2012,  In 2013 the HBA RTP chapter hosted a joint meeting with Women in BIO.


CPhI Women’s Networking Breakfast

 After a successful launch in 2014, the 2nd edition of the CPhI Women’s Networking Breakfast will be taking place during CPhI Worldwide in Madrid on the morning of Wednesday 14 October 2015.

American Heart Association Inc.

American Heart Association, Inc. (AHA) and the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association  are working together to advance mutual goals. The HBA Metro Chapter’s second annual charity golf outing in 2011 raised over $14,000 for the American Heart Association’s (AHA) New York Chapter.



CPhI Worldwide

HBA is a supporting partner for CPhI Worldwide 2015 to be held in Madrid between 12 to 15 October. CPhI is a leading pharmaceuticals networking event, bringing together 2,200 exhibitors and more than 36,000+ attendees from 140 countries. The HBA is pleased to particpate in the Women’s Networking Breakfast, a session that brings together women working within the pharmaceutical industry for a morning of networking and inspirational speeches on driving female empowerment and leadership on October 14. 


The HBA launched a new leadership initiative for women in regulatory, medical, legal and compliance, in collaboration with the Drug Information Association (DIA).  The inaugural event took place on June 26th in Philadelphia at the 2012 DIA Annual Meeting. Dress for Success

The mission of Dress for Success (DFS) is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Since 1997, Dress for Success has served more than 550,000 women around the world.

Starting in 2011, several HBA chapters have supported Dress for Success via chapter events. The HBA and DFS collaborated on a 2011 Rising Star class project. This project creates an opportunity for the year's class of Rising Star’s to engage, interact and network with one another and their respective chapter, while giving back to their community, creating a legacy they can call their own. This was executed in cooperation with the HBA Greater Philadelphia and San Francisco Bay Area chapters. The results of this class project were presented at the 2011 HBA Leadership Conference. THe HBA Metro chapter, and the HBA San Francisco chapter have supported Dress for Success in their communities.

The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Since 1997, Dress for Success has served more than 550,000 women around the world. To meet the need for services that would help women both find and keep jobs, Dress for Success established the Professional Women's Group (PWG) program, which offers women ongoing support as they successfully transition into the workforce, build thriving careers and prosper in the mainstream workplace. Once a woman joins the PWG she is a member for life, able to attend meetings at any affiliate throughout the world and can benefit from additional employment retention and mentoring programs. Dress for Success also has developed Career Center, an initiative that promotes confidence and professionalism by providing women career guidance, the chance to acquire technology skills and assistance in their job searches.


National Association of Specialty Pharmacy™NASP
The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy™ (NASP™), founded in 2012, represents specialty pharmacy professionals in all practice settings and highlights the unique value our members bring to patients and the healthcare system. NASP is focused on building collaboration among all organizations involved in specialty pharmacy to deliver the benefits and services needed to improve patient outcomes. NASP provides the platform for clinical, scientific, and business exchange for all specialty pharmaceutical stakeholders and fosters collaborative initiatives to align the goals of all stakeholders.
